166 new cases of Covid-19, another 25 recoveries – hospitalised patients now 17

166 new cases of Covid-19 have been identified over the past 24 hours and there have been another 25 recoveries. The number of active cases is presently 2,487.
The number of patients being treated at Mater Dei Hospital for the virus has now gone up to 17, one of whom is in the ITU.
The new cases emerged from 4,302 swab tests, which have pushed up to 1,057,596 the number of swab tests carried out so far.
The number of persons infected with the virus since it surfaced in Malta in March 2020 is now 33,198, and the number of recoveries from the pandemic has gone up to 30,291.
733,736 vaccinations had been administered up to yesterday, of which 389,025 wara first doses. 362,923 persons have been given the full dose of the vaccine.
Of the 199 cases announced yesterday, 149 were in the 10 to 39 age group, with the average age being 28.
