199 new cases of Covid-19, another 30 recoveries – number of hospitalised patients down to 15

199 new cases of Covid-19 have been identified over the past 24 hours and there have been another 30 recoveries, with the number of active cases now standing at 2,346.
The number of patients being treated for the virus at Mater Dei Hospital has now dropped down to 15, one of whom is in the ITU. This means three patients have been released from hospital.
The new cases emerged from 3,976 swab tests, which have pushed up to 1,053,294 the number of swab tests carried out to date.
The number of patients infected with the virus since March 2020 is now 33,032, and the number of recoveries from the pandemic has gone up to 30,266.
730,483 vaccinations had been administered up to yesterday, of which 387,329 were first doses. 360,880 persons have received the full dose of the vaccine.
Of the 217 cases announced yesterday, 167 were in the 10 to 37-year age group, with the average age being 27.
