This chocolate mousse is a fresh and delicious dessert prepared with only two ingredients: chocolate and eggs. It is one of the spoon desserts par excellence, and it is prepared in an easy way with different versions. Some make it with whipped cream, others with only egg whites. And the decoration? Free your imagination: from chocolate chips to nuts, through biscuits and candied fruit.
So let’s see how we can whip this up real quick! Follow these instructions for a yummy, finger licking good dessert…
- Chop coarsely the chocolate and put it in a pot where you will melt it in a bain-marie. Keep it aside to let it cool.
- Separate the egg whites from the yolks and beat them with a whisk. Add the melted chocolate and stir to get a firm mixture. Beat the egg whites until stiff and dry.
- Add them to the egg yolks mixing from the bottom to the top. When the mixture is uniform, distribute it in single-portion cups.
4. Transfer the chocolate mousse in the refrigerator for at least two hours. Then, when it is ready and firm, decorate the surface with the chocolate flakes and serve.
