Carnival is not only about massive colourful floats, dancing and extravagant parties. When I think about Carnival, even though I am not a fan, what comes to mind is the workforce behind this festival. the people who voluntarily dedicate so much time to prepare for these couple of days to see the smiles on children’s faces.
Two persons who have for sure dedicated a lot fo time to something Carnival related, were Marvic and Chris Aquilina from ‘Deheb Carnival Company’. Their hard work produced a Carnival costume that has made it to the Malta book of records.
The costume is a dress made up of 26,053 jewels. Can you imagine that!? I wonder how long it took them to finish off the costume! The dress is intricate with lovely flowers and a beautiful scene. It is a work of art indeed!
Marvic and Chris Aquilina from ‘Deheb Carnival Company’ will be rewarded today, Sunday in front of the Court during the parade in Valletta. If you are going to be in Valletta, we encourage you to be there for the presentation! Best wishes to Marvic and Chris! Well done!
