A 47-year-old man from San Ġwann has been conditionally discharged and bound over not to commit another crime within one year after admitting to the theft of statues from a house in Kappara.
Bartholomew Micallef admitted to the theft carried out on 18 March 2020 at about 10.00 a.m., to the detriment of Clive Falzon.
On handing down sentence, Magistrate Nadine Lia took into consideration, among other issues, the fact that the accused regretted his actions and this was his first attempt at stealing.
The Magistrate also considered the fact that both Prosecution and Defence Counsel agreed that the accused should not be jailed.
Inspector Jonathan Ransley investigated the theft and prosecuted.
