After months of rumours, only the official was missing and it has finally arrived: the new iPhone 12 will arrive in stores in October, a few weeks behind the original calendar. The confirmation came from Apple at the end of the meeting dedicated to the communication of financial results (record) by the mouth of Luca Maestri, financial director of the Californian company.

The Italian executive said: “Last year we started selling the new iPhones in late September, this year we expect to make the stocks available a few weeks later “, now removing any doubts from the release in physical and online stores the iPhone 12, iPhone and iPhone 12 Pro 12 Pro Max .

The official reasons for this postponement have not been communicated, but as has been widely hypothesised, it should probably be related to the consequences of the pandemic which slowed down the entire world production chain. It won’t be an exaggerated delay compared to the initial programs and there is also a recent precedent.

Already in 2017, in fact, the iPhone X model – which broke with the past thanks to the introduction of the notch – had been presented in September, but was only sold in November, for some production problems. Similar fate in 2018 also for iPhone Xr which from September was released in October. Both devices have become best sellers , despite the small initial wait.

Despite the release in stores in October, there are strong chances that the presentation event of the new iPhones will remain in September , as per the original calendar . There are no further official indications on the other products that Apple should formalise in this second half of 2020.

We expect new iPads , new MacBooks , the AirPods Studio over-ear headphones and it could finally be the time of AirPower , the universal rechargeable mat.
