SAO PAULO – Four people died after an elevator collapsed from the ninth floor of a building in Santos, on the São Paulo coast. According to the military police, the victims, which have not yet been identified, all belonged to the same family and the building belongs to the Brazilian Navy.

Again according to the Prime Minister, one of the dead is said to be the wife of an official in charge.

The building serves as accommodation for the military. The elevator collapsed on Guararapes Street, in the Vila Belmiro neighbourhood, around 8 pm.
