Pictures that have been shared on social media show the coast of Bugibba flooded, water going beyond the car doors. The MRTU Facebook page also reported flooding in San Ġwann valley, and stones road in Telgħa t’Alla u Ommu.
Meanwhile, parents whose children attend Marsaxlokk primary school complained of sewage spill in the school road. Parents said children ended up smelling awful and that this was not the first time that has happened.
Apparently there was also flooding in the area of St. George in Birżebbuġa, where the problem actually arises even without rain, when raising the sea level and ends in the street.
In connection with the latter, Malta Infrastructure said that evaluating solutions to mitigate a storm or flood road when raising the sea level, without creating consequences buildings in the area.
