Milllions of children’s water bottles have been recalled due to choking concerns. A silicone spout on Contigo Kids Cleanable Water Bottles can come off and pose a choking hazard for children, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (USCPSC).

Contigo has received 149 complaints from users, including 18 situations where the spout was found in a child’s mouth. However, no child has been injured. Contigo says on their website that the recall has been issued “out of an abundance of caution.”

The water bottles come in three sizes: 13 ounce, 14 ounce and 20 ounce, and were sold individually as well as in two- and three-packs, USCPSC says. The base and cover of the silicone spout are black, and “Contigo” is printed on the rim and along the front near the bottom of the bottle. About 5.7 million of these bottles are being recalled.

The bottles were sold between April 2018 through June 2019. If you own one of these water bottles, the USCPSC recommends “immediately” taking it away from your child.
