The news given moments ago in an ongoing press conference, adds another 17 cases, which brings Malta’s total to 107.

Out of these 17 cases, 10 were imported. In the Press Conference, the Superintendent of Public Health Prof Charmaine Gauci announced that figures of imported cases are now expected to drop following the country’s travel ban.

The remaining seven cases were through local transmission. Of these, one is a health care worker. Three of the cases: a 14-year old girl, a 49-year old woman and a 21-year old man are part of a cluster of 5 family members to contract the virus.

Prof Charmaine Gauci highlighted the containment strategy being carried out and insisted on the importance of following health directives.

Stay safe, keep indoors!
