In a news conference, Education Minister Owen Bonnici announced that schools will now be completely closed for this school year. This is the decision of the Government due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Schools will remain closed until the end of June.
This means that students have at least the beginning of the new school year to return to school.
It was explained that online learning will continue, and when children return to school next September, they will automatically be promoted to next year, meaning they will not repeat the year.
In the case of Year 6 students, the assessment mark will be taken, and the benchmark will not take place.
