The Carnival holidays can be an opportunity to donate blood! Away from the Carnival folly there is the reality of people hospitalised and in need of a number of treatments, including blood transfusions.
Faced with this, as well as the fact that a significant number of people in the coming days will be enjoy the holidays, The National Blood Transfusion Service asks the general public to try and allocate time to donate blood. This is to help alleviate the burden of the Blood Bank who needs to have a good reserve for both patients are currently hospitalised, as well as those who enter emergency.
Blood donation in the coming days is as follows:
- Center of Blood Donation of G’Manġa opening DAILY from 8:00am to 6:00pm (last entry at 6:00pm)
- The Mobile Blood Donation Unit on Sunday 3rd March from 8:30am until 1:00pm will be in the square adjacent to the parish church of Żejtun
- At the Auberge of Xewkija Gozo on Sunday 3rd March will be available for blood donations from 8:00am until 1:00pm (last entry at 1:00pm)
Remember to take your ID card or driving license or Maltese passport, and possibly encourage others to donate as well.
