At around 8.30pm yesterday evening two vehicles; an Audi and a Maruti were involved in a collision near the Mosta-Mgarr roundabout.
With the impact the Audi ended up in the deeper part of the road that is being constructed as a part of the road widening project going on in the area. Eye witnesses confirm that the two vehicles were involved in a head on collision as one vehicle was being driven towards Mgarr and one was coming back from Mgarr with one of the cars being driven on the wrong side of the road.
The driver and front passenger of the Maruti have been declared dead on the scene and another 6 persons have been taken to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment one if which is in critical condition.
