Mosquitoes arrive with the arrival of the summer season. In nature there are more than 3500 different species of mosquitoes and one of the best known, but also most feared, is the tiger mosquito. These insects generally live a few days, but if they find a warm home they can reach the year of life. Females bite, in fact, the males die after mating.

There are several natural remedies against mosquitoes and among these one is little known. Coffee is a powerful repellent, able to ward off annoying insects. Its aroma is not liked by mosquitoes that therefore move away.

Here’s how to use coffee to fight mosquitoes naturally and effectively….

First method: Insert liquid coffee in a nebulizer and spray it in mosquito-infested areas. You can also use it around windows and on window sills to prevent mosquitoes from entering your home. Coffee will take effect after a few minutes.

Second method: Introduce the coffee beans into the standing water or into the soil of the plants. In this case, the coffee will eliminate the mosquito larvae.

Third method: Put coffee grounds in a bowl, cover them with aluminum foil and let them dry in a dry place. When they are completely dry, place them on aluminum foil or in a bowl and burn them as if they were incense. The odor of coffee that is released will drive away all the mosquitoes.

Fourth method: To burn the coffee dust. The ground coffee powder performs a very effective action against mosquitoes.

Fifth method: Put some coffee beans on a plate covered with aluminum foil. Cover the coffee beans with ground coffee. Light it all up with a lighter and let it burn slowly. As soon as the smell of coffee is released, the mosquitoes will start to move away.

There are also other effective remedies to combat these insects. Lemon, lavender, lemongrass and geranium are hated by mosquitoes, here’s how to use them.

  • Put the vinegar with lemon slices in a dish and place the dish on a window.
  • Spread the smell of lavender, geranium and lemon in the air.
  • Grow basil, mint or lavender plants on the terrace.
  • Use candles with the essence of geranium, lavender or citronella.

Here is a very effective natural remedy against mosquitoes. Boil a bunch of basil and two of mint for 20 minutes. Filter the liquid obtained and keep it in the fridge. Spray it on the legs and arms.

To eliminate mosquitoes many people are used to using insecticides. However these substances are toxic and harmful, especially for children. They also break down the ecosystem. It is better to choose natural remedies that are equally effective and non-polluting.
