In the Chezy-sur-Marne retirement home, about 100 km from Paris, a 92-year-old woman would have been strangled by her neighbour at the age of 102.

The body was found Saturday night by an employee of the medical facility which immediately alerted the firemen. The victim’s autopsy, carried out by the Saint-Quentin forensic institute, concluded that the woman died of asphyxiation due to strangulation and blows to the head.

The 102-year-old woman was admitted to a psychiatric facility. An investigation has now been opened for voluntary homicide. The woman, who allegedly confessed to the murder, was transferred to the Château-Thierry hospital and was subsequently admitted to a psychiatric facility.
