The Maltese vaccination program against Covid-19 is at the forefront of most age categories.
Figures published by Covid-19 Vaccination of the European Union show that at 70.1 %, Malta has the highest vaccination rate among people between 25 and 49 years old.
Malta is also at the forefront of vaccination among people between the ages of 60 and 69. Figures show that 99.1% of people in this category are vaccinated against the virus.
Malta also has a high vaccination rate among those aged between 50 and 59 where 86.4% of Maltese have been vaccinated. Only Ireland has a higher rate than Malta in this category with almost 91% of its population in this category being vaccinated.
At 96.1%, Malta has the fourth highest rate of those aged 80 and over who have been completely vaccinated against coronavirus.
Meanwhile, official figures from the Maltese health authorities show that until yesterday 724,343 doses of the vaccine had been given, of which 383,867 given were the first dose while 357,558 people were given the second dose.
