PM visits employees at Centrecom – over three years 600 new employees have been engaged
Centrecom has continued to expand its operations and over the last three years had expanded its number of employees by a further 600 in order to strengthen the excellent quality services it gives to clients. While visiting the company’s employees Prime Minister Robert Abela praised the flexibility measures offered by the company to its employees to enjoy a balance of life between work and the family.
In its inclusivity measures, Centrecom has ten disabled persons in its human resource complement. During the last year the company received more than one million calls related to services offered by servizz.gov. These include services offered by Government entities. The majority of its human resource force is aged between 18 and 39 and 60% of the work force are female some of whom also occupy high places.
Diane Caruana, Contact Centre Agent said she has been working at Centrecom for the last 18 months and had previously been a stay-at-home mother but now that the children have grown she decided to return to work. Centrecom opened up new opportunities for her and her work time have helped so that while children are at school, she is able to attend work.
David Falzon, another Contact Centre Agent, stated he is a student working at Centrecom and has managed to achieve a balance between work and his studies. He said in all honesty he always manages to find a balance between responding to telephone calls as well as emails and this sometimes includes live chats to help clients even further.
When visiting the company at Mosta, Prime Minister Abela was able to follow at close quarters the amount of thousand of telephone calls received daily. He noted the appreciation of the employees to the flexibility of the hours and other measures to help them achieve a balance between work and the family.
Centrecom’s Chief Executive Robert Spiteri said the company continually invests in employee training while ensuring they be provided with the latest advanced technology on the market to enable the company to offer a more excellent service.
