INGREDIENTS (INGREDJENTI)

  • pizza dough (għaġina tal-pizza)
  • 1 cup chopped mushrooms (kikkra faqqiegħ imqatta’)
  • 1/2 cup chopped peppers (nofs kikkra bżar imqatta’)
  • 4-5 medium ripe tomatoes seeded and chopped (4-5 tadadmiet bla żerriegħa mqatta’)
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano (nofs kuċċarina origano)
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil (nofs kuċċarina ħabaq)
  • salt (melħ)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil (3 kuċċarini żejt taż-żebbuġa)
  • 1 cup shredded firm mozzarella (kikkra mozzarella mqatta’)
  • freshly grated Parmesan cheese (ġobon Parmiġġan maħkuk frisk)
  • some tomato paste ftit kunserva jew sugu tat-tadam)

METHOD (METODU)

  • Pre-heat oven to 250° celsius. Lightly grease a large pizza pan. (Saħħan il-forn għal 250° celsius u idlek turtiera tal-pizza). 
  • In a large bowl mix together mushrooms, peppers, tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt and 3 tablespoons olive oil. Gently mix together. Set aside. (Ġo skutella kbira ħallat flimkien il-faqqiegħ, il-bżar, it-tadam, l-origano, il-ħabaq, il-melħ u t-3 kuċċarini żejt taż-żebbuġa)

  • Roll out pizza dough and form 2-4 long strips approximately 4 inches x 10 inches (10×30 centimeters), place one strip on pizza pan and spoon some tomato mixture along the strip.
