It looks like a small mountain suddenly appeared in the Daikanyama district of Tokyo, instead it is the new multi-purpose shopping complex that the design studio Nendo designed for Onward, a Japanese brand dedicated to clothing and the support of national culture.
In the six floors of the structure there are several units superimposed on each other characterised by large windows that allow natural light to penetrate the spaces, to ensure a balanced and natural experience in the passage from outside to inside.
Made with a mixture of cement, marble, glass, stone and wood, the Kashiyama Daikanyama has just been inaugurated and houses a café on the basement floor, which connects to the ground floor, designed as a gallery for exhibitions and events.
Second and third floors are dedicated to fashion and accessories, while higher up is the restaurant and, even more, a bar that allows you to admire the view of one of the most characteristic places of the Japanese capital. The peculiarity of the structure is that the roof of each unit acts as a terrace for that located upstairs.
