Children under the age of 16 living in the European Union could be banned by WhatsApp. This is what the WaBetaInfo website reports, according to which the developers of the famous messaging platform would be studying a system to prevent use by those who do not meet the personal data requirement.

In theory the use of WhatsApp is, within the EU, already limited to those over 16 (outside the European Union it takes 13 years instead), as reported in the document on terms of use. A limit that until now has remained only theoretical, but which seems to be about to become effective: in the latest update of WhatsApp there would in fact be a trace of a developing system to “ban” from the platform those who do not meet the master data requirement.
Definitely unclear how it will be possible to verify the age of the users: someone talks about a possible crossing of the information on Facebook and Instagram, from which it would be possible, in many cases, to connect the telephone number with the personal data.
